About the event
The Hope is Here Civic Sessions are monthly gatherings hosted by incoming City Council President Micah McCarey to connect residents directly with city government in an accessible, engaging format. These sessions are a cornerstone of the Athens Governance Academy, an initiative designed to foster civic learning, collaborative leadership, and transparent local governance.
What to Expect Each 60-minute session includes:
A welcome and update on current city topics
A spotlight segment exploring a featured issue
Community Q&A and open discussion
Informal networking and light refreshments
